Friday 23rd March 2012

Oh I know before you say it I'm hopeless at this blogging, well I was always hopeless at keeping a diary ...anyway less is more!

Today has been a great day for playing out and taking activities outdoors. Squeals of delight were heard earlier as Toddlers played out this morning with the bikes, trikes, hoops, bats and balls. The sand tray has been busy outdoors this week and the play area is covered in sand, it has been transported up the slides, down the slides, into the tree house, swapped between friends and so forth...it gets everywhere. Next week it's water in the outdoors tray....let's see what happens then.

Today for lunch the children have enjoyed their fish fingers and mash or oven chips with spaghetti or beans. Fruit platters were the pudding for today and tea tonight will be cheese pasta, salad and yogurts.

Now all is quiet as Tots, Little Tinkers and Toddlers are asleep, several Babies are awake as I type and are shouting at Pat and I through the gate so it looks like it's going to be lively in there this afternoon.

Enjoy your weekend.....

Wednesday 7th March 2012

Wow once again with half term and my holidays the weeks have shot by and I have not been writing the blog as it were....

Well it started off a bit frosty yesterday and then the sun came out and so did our children. As you can see from the main page the 0-2 years were outdoors having fun yesterday. The Babies went for a walk to the park to feed the ducks and came back a little grumpy ready for their lunch and a sleep.

The Tots children have been outdoors also and have been splitting up for activities using the Library for role play and construction play. They enjoyed the Jill Murphy story "Whatever Next" and have been over to the sports hall for games with the balls.

The Kindergarten children have been learning about "Friends", "Vegetables", doing woodwork projects and of course they are off to French today at The Mount.

Write again soon .....

Freezing Thursday 9th February

Wowee it's cold outside today, the children are all arriving in their coats, hats and gloves well needed today I'm sure we all agree.

So Thursday morning is off to a busy start, yesterday was busy the kindergarten pre-school had their spanish graduation at The Mount. It has been a huge success with the children and many thanks to Ms Lopez for all of her hard work and also to Michael the bus driver and to Mr Collins for picking the children up and dropping them back off.

From listening to feedback with regard to the Literacy Meeting many of you found it very helpful and were amazed by how much is involved in teaching Early Years and beyond in Communication, Language and Literacy so many thanks to Mr Webster for organising a very positive start to this new venture in partnership with Edge Hill.

Its a Sports Hall day for the Kindergarten today so much excitiement can be heard as they "rev" up for a play in all of that huge space. The Kindergarten seem to be involved in all sorts of activities so more on them tomorrow. Babies and Toddlers are making their Valentine's cards, Tots made Valentine's biscuits yesterday, cards today and Little Tinkers are going to have some role play with the dolls and prams, soft play session and outdoor play with the hoops....weather permitting...

It's Friday

It's been a very busy Friday. Heather from Sefton LEA came to see us today and to have a play with our 0-2 years and give us some ideas for some new resources etc. Then there was great excitement amongst the staff as the children's photographs have arrived and are being distributed as we speak. They are the best yet and I will definitely be booking Eureka portraits again as I think the results are excellent. Your feedback will be gratefully received.

So what else has been happening..... Little Tinkers were involved in foam play which became a mix up with glitter, pasta etc. Toddlers had a good time in the sand and water and the Babies were table painting and playing with the animals in the sand.

Before we knew it lunch time had arrived...today it was a gammon roast with vegetables followed by delicious flapjacks mmmmmm. Tea today is cheese and vegetable pasta salad followed by yogurt and fruit.

Enjoy your photographs, have a lovely weekend see you all Monday

Monday 30th January 2012

Well the sun may well shining but it is very chilly outdoors. However nothing stops the children from playing out, hats on, scarfs on and nice warm coats and away they go. The photographers actually enjoyed their morning here, there were a couple of refusals but with the persuasion of the biscuit tin we managed to achieve some great smiles and poses.

Lunch today was sweet and sour chicken with rice followed by yoghurt and fruit.

It's been a busy morning with the children enjoying plenty of play whilst their friends have come and gone for photographs with their mums and dads. So tomorrow is business as usual...
